NAACP Town Hall

Thank you to the Stafford NAACP for hosting a townhall on issues facing our Stafford community. School capacity, resource officers and funding were some of the key topics.

With an already short of needs budget for the schools, there is worry about how federal funding cuts and 3 additional schools needing staffed are going to work out.

We have some deep needs in this county that our revenue just doesn’t keep up with because of snowballing past decisions.

Great educators have been feeling the strain. Over 300 maintenance items need addressed. Another 2 schools are in the works for the fall of 2028. Some really tough conversations are coming. We will need to listen intently. Advocate with our full chest. Engage our community organizations, churches, and businesses. Both boards will have to show up ready for solutions, not sound bites.

I am ready and excited to get to work.
